Council approves easement vacation, senior vehicle grant application, liquor-license transfer and tree-board appointment; proclaims Scleroderma Awareness Month

Beaver Creek — In addition to the PUD hearing and citizen commentary, the council approved several routine but actionable items at its meeting.
Ordinance 26-12, a second-reading ordinance vacating drainage easements over land owned by Green Crossings LLC, passed on voice vote. The council also approved Resolution 26-26, authorizing the city manager to apply for a $40,000 Green County Council on Aging grant to help purchase a senior-center vehicle; staff reported the bus cost is about $160,000 and noted additional federal ODOT and donation funding will cover the remainder.
On other procedural business, council accepted an Ohio liquor-license transfer to 1326 Twin Pillars Krishna LLC without comment after staff reported required record checks were complete. The council appointed Debbie Whitaker to the Tree Advisory Board to fill an unexpired term.
The meeting opened with Mayor Don Adams reading a proclamation naming June 2026 Scleroderma Awareness Month in Beaver Creek and invited the proclamation recipient to address the council. Fire Chief Christine Hawker introduced the department’s new command staff and summarized accreditation work and community outreach plans.
Votes: all four of the above items passed on voice votes during the meeting; the PUD rezoning (PUD26-2) was tabled for revisions and did not advance.
Next steps: staff will process the grant application and easement paperwork and notify applicants and board appointees as required.
