Resident Jim Schneller urged council to adopt a medium-density designation near the school, arguing higher-density housing near schools can reduce traffic and support walkability. The council then moved to approve the plan (motion to approve with the table removed); the motion passed 7-0 with Cop, McFall, Doss, Gates, Wisnap, Parrot and Badger voting yes.
What happens next: Staff will coordinate the plan's implementation with department champions and incorporate CIP and maintenance-management outputs into future budget and project planning. The plan will return for final action-related scheduling and any clarifications requested by council.
