Cogwell said the civil-service vendor timeline is typically about 12 weeks from submission of the vendor form to the assessment date.
Board members and Cogwell discussed logistics: the board should name a single point of contact to work with Badgequest, assessors must avoid contact that would compromise candidates in the assessment center, and the provisional chief should be shielded from assessment details so the process remains fair. Cogwell provided contact names for his team and asked for coordination with town staff.
During a later discussion of special-town-meeting articles, a board member moved and the board approved a $5,944 amendment to the current fiscal-year budget to pay Badgequest for the assessment center; staff were directed to place the amendment into the appropriate article for town meeting review.
