Lancaster board approves 20 resolutions including appointments, equipment purchases and public hearings

At its March 16 meeting the Lancaster Town Board considered and voted on 20 pre-filed resolutions covering routine town business, appointments and procurement.
Among the actions the board approved by roll call were the affirmation of meeting minutes and audit claims, the reaffirmation of building-permit applications and sidewalk waivers, and personnel appointments that included a promotion to detective and part-time and full-time court staff hires.
The board approved the purchase of two 2026 Chevy Silverado 2500 heavy-duty trucks for the Highway Department at a combined cost not to exceed $102,530, to be purchased through Erie County bid pricing. The board also authorized an emergency purchase and installation of two Lochinvar high-efficiency boilers for the Lancaster Police Station at a cost not to exceed $93,424.68.
Public hearings were scheduled for April 6 on several items including a notice to remove or repair a structure at 3803 Bowen Road, a special-use permit application for an automotive oil-change shop at 4885 Transit Road (Take 5 Oil Change), and proposed financing for two Pierce fire engines being acquired by the Twin District Volunteer Fire Company.
Voting and conflicts: most resolutions passed on unanimous roll-call votes recorded in the meeting. On at least one resolution (salary correction for part-time school crossing guards) Councilmember Schroeder recorded an abstention; later in the package a potential conflict of interest was recorded for Councilmember Schroder on another project and was noted on the record.
The board also confirmed surplus vehicles for online auction and authorized a lease and service agreement for a power-lift van for senior transportation.
