The Rockdale Development Services Department reported a slow month for September permitting, with nine building permits and two plumbing permits issued, including a new single‑family home at 413 East Hamilton with an estimated construction valuation of about $158,000.
Staff said most other permits were for small projects such as reroofs and fencing. On larger developments, staff reported preliminary interest in Republic Ridge but said the project remains in planning with options under discussion; Cornerstone has slowed permitting activity and is likely done for the year according to staff. An application for storage units at a former CarQuest property was revoked.
Commissioners asked for periodic (quarterly) progress updates on major permitted neighborhoods so the commission can track buildout and reduce duplicate reporting; staff offered to provide brief quarterly summaries of development progress and to add new subdivisions to the inventory as streets are completed.
