They recommended separating the "ask" (the precise amount and line‑item request) from the supporting context or backstory so reviewers can quickly see what is requested and then read the rationale.
The committee also discussed required signatures and how FINCOM signoff should operate operationally. Members suggested that, after an affirmative committee vote, the FINCOM chair be able to sign the form on behalf of the committee to avoid scrambling for multiple signatures at the meeting; staff said existing policies will be reviewed and the policy language will be updated to reflect signatory practice.
Members agreed the draft is a good starting point and asked staff (Tony and Maria) to iterate the form with the five rules at the top, a clear "ask" box, and a separate invoice/supporting documentation section; policy changes will follow so the form and the procedures align before broader use.
