Township police report large illegal car meet in March; officials say they will continue enforcement

He cited a documented pop-up gathering on March 21, 2026, in a parking lot near U.S. Highway 9 and Quality Way that drew approximately 107 vehicles at the time officers arrived. "Five officers responded and ultimately issued a total of 276 summonses in connection with that incident," Director Nisky said. He also said that a separate planned large-scale meet at Woodbridge Center Mall was averted after mall representatives declined to allow the gathering; unmarked traffic units were assigned to monitor the area.
Nisky told the council the township will continue to monitor, deter and enforce when such gatherings are planned or detected, and he described ongoing coordination with property owners and traffic units to reduce risk.
