County Engineer Kathy Nicholas briefed the board May 26 and recommended final acceptance of Project L3032 (bridge repairs performed by Boulder Construction LLC). Staff described deck and drip-edge repairs on several county bridges, change orders including a $75,000 Donald Street addition, and a final project cost presented in the meeting materials at about $314,991.90. The board approved final acceptance, release of retainage and closeout.
The board also opened electronic bids for the FY27 seal-coating project and placed them on file for review: Farner Asphalt Sealers LLC bid $284,300; Blacktop Service Company bid $164,196; Prairie Road Owners bid $195,151.04; Staybuilt Construction Company bid $191,448.16. The engineer's estimate was listed in the packet as $26,492. The board voted to accept and file the bids for later review and award.
Nicholas explained the bridge work addressed common concrete deck delamination on mid-life slab bridges and noted no liquidated damages were assessed; staff recommended release of retainage and project closeout.
