Kenner City Council voted April 17 to adopt summary ordinance 14,085, levying the annual tax millage for 2026 at the same rates in effect the previous two years. Staff explained the city is not in a reassessment year; the next reassessment is scheduled for 2028, at which time the council would consider rollback or roll‑forward adjustments as required. The council opened a public hearing on the ordinance, took no public testimony, and then voted to adopt the ordinance by voice vote. Council Member Wilmont clarified that the ordinance simply adopts existing voter‑approved rates rather than making a change to assessed values or millage percentages.
