Improvement Association reports Head Start outcomes to Dinwiddie board

Outcomes for the year included 64 home visits, 48 parent-teacher conferences, two field trips and one community event; the program reported meeting state benchmarks tied to its classroom assessment (TSG/Creative Curriculum) and described social-emotional, physical, language, cognitive, literacy and math assessments demonstrating progress from fall to winter.
The representative said the program had approximately 350 participants at a December winter event and invited board members to a Royal Ball fundraiser themed "boots on the ground" on April 16 at Golden Leaf Commons in Greensville County. The presenter also thanked the board for continued support and said the program assists families with services including food, utilities and housing referrals.
Board members thanked the presenter and staff for their work. No action was requested or taken on the update.
