Council sets 7 p.m. start time, appoints alternate engineer and reviews bids

The Englewood City Council voted to amend its meeting schedule so that regular and close-session meetings start at 7 p.m., approved a schedule of special council meetings for 2025 with 7 p.m. start times, and appointed Matt McDonald as an alternate engineering firm under Resolution 47-01.
Council President moved to amend Resolution 46 to change start times to 7 p.m.; the amendment and the schedule authorization passed on roll call with Councilwoman David, Councilman Rosen, Councilman Toer, Councilman Wilson and the Council President voting yes.
On Resolution 47-01 the council approved naming Matt McDonald as another alternate engineer in addition to Boswell Engineering. City staff said the resume and engineer list for McDonald would be circulated to council members later and that rates remain the same as in 2024.
Staff also briefed the council on procurement items: bids for auto repair (Bid No. 24-39) were opened with seven vendors and staff expects to make an award at the Feb. 4 meeting; a rebid for DPW garage doors (24 R-35) was issued after initial bids came in higher than anticipated, and the project will replace roughly 12–16 doors with insulated aluminum doors for energy efficiency.
The appointment and schedule changes were handled by roll call votes; the council asked staff to distribute McDonald’s résumé and technical staff lists before final award decisions on procurement are made.
