Corporation Counsel John Marini said the city is moving from a completed feasibility study to a planning effort that will attach costs to options and permit a more concrete design. He said the planning survey will help determine scope, costs and potential mitigation benefits related to the city's wider downtown remediation work.
Marini and staff emphasized pursuing state and federal grants and tax-credit avenues to limit direct taxpayer exposure. The board approved the consultant selection by voice vote and staff said renderings and a public Q&A session will be scheduled for early fall.
