Votes at a glance: Wilson County Board approves contracts, budget amendments and enters closed session

The Wilson County Board of Education on a series of unanimous votes approved several procurement contracts, accepted multiple 2025–26 budget amendments and authorized the superintendent to make year-end budget adjustments. Mrs. Boyette moved the instructional services motion and Ms. Powell seconded it; the motion carried unanimously.

CFO Shannon Collins presented budget amendments across the state expense fund, local current expense fund, capital outlay, federal expense fund and local special revenue fund; the board approved the amendments unanimously. Separately, the board authorized the superintendent to make the necessary year-end budget adjustments to balance the budget ending June 30, 2026; that authorization passed unanimously on a committee motion.

Two vendor contracts were reported for board notification (no approval vote recorded in the transcript): Safe Seating Safety Solutions for $44,937.70 to add aisle handrails and footboards to high-school bleachers, and Petroleum Equipment Services of Wilson Inc. for $30,734.29 to replace fuel pumps at the transportation department.
