Council Member Chrisafulli said a prior pilot drew more than 1,100 responses and that "80% of them said Memorial Field," arguing Memorial Field would better preserve the Village Green.
Resident Henry Bassman urged caution about siting on the Village Green and recommended fees or other user charges be used for wear-and-tear and maintenance; Bassman later made a separate public-comment pitch for a Tatlock field usage fee.
Council discussion emphasized compromise: members suggested moving forward with pop-up parks while prioritizing Memorial Field as a permanent location, improving fencing and design, and rotating sites to reduce localized turf damage. The resolution passed by voice vote with council support.
