Supervisor Sheffer called the motion on resolution 51 and the clerk conducted a roll-call vote. The clerk indicated the measure passed and said the town will publish the notice and wait the statutory 30 days for any referendum filings before completing the signature process.
The board also adopted two other resolutions during the meeting: resolution 52 appointing Eliza Buplan to the town housing authority board, and resolution 53 adopting updated town policies and procedures to align with New York open-meetings expectations. Separately, the board approved a motion to donate $1,000 to the Falls North Fire Department community day and directed staff to prepare a resolution to set part‑time summer highway worker pay at $18–$20 an hour for formal adoption.
Ryan summarized the rationale for the easement request: National Grid must memorialize its right of way in the county records because an unrecorded overhead line required a recorded easement for a planned pole relocation tied to the solar hookup. "It really just enshrines in writing their responsibility to maintain their own infrastructure," he said. He added that the action reduces future ambiguity about maintenance responsibility and access while noting that if a permissive referendum is filed the town must pause until that period resolves.
The measures passed by roll call and will be processed through the clerk’s office for publication and formal recording as required.
