The council completed the second reading of Ordinance 2382, which would annex portions of Section 25 into the city's industrial park; no public speakers addressed the annexation during the hearing and the council indicated a third reading will be scheduled at a future meeting.
Council then considered a set of housekeeping ordinances to align tax and contractor registration periods with the calendar year and to centralize contractor‑registration language in the building regulations. Staff explained the changes are intended to make renewal dates consistent and to give contractors a transition period so that current licensees are good through the end of the calendar year. The council voted to suspend the rules and passed Ordinances 2383, 2384 and 2385 by recorded voice votes.
Finally, the council moved into and approved a motion to go into a closed session to discuss a potential option for sale of real estate; members and the public were asked to leave for the closed session.
