Staff said the city’s share would be $16,394 and the Leavenworth County Sheriff’s Office would receive $10,000 under the cost-share the city uses. Event waiver: The commission granted a transient merchant permit waiver to allow a police collector show fundraiser for the Leavenworth Prisons Historical Society at the Riverfront Community Center (April 24–25). Applicant Kenneth LaMaster described vendor participation and tourism benefits.
Procurements and contracts: The commission approved purchase of a 2026 Ford Super Duty F350 chassis for Parks & Recreation ($60,645.32 with a separately quoted service bed), accepted HMI Aquatics LLC’s base bid not to exceed $64,615.99 for indoor pool mechanical upgrades (closure May 26–Sept 7), and accepted a cooperative contract through American Equipment Company for two dump beds ($61,862) and a material spreader ($40,711) totaling $102,573. Staff noted budget line items and lead times (dump beds/spreader lead time 16–18 months).
