Tipton R‑VI approves KBC Academy placement contract with small rate increases

She told trustees that the contract runs from Aug. 1 to July 31 and that page 3 of the contract lists the rate changes. "Currently, right now, it's a $185 per day per kid ... Next year, it will go to a $190," Dr. Hansen said, and she noted therapy‑service rate adjustments from $95 to $99 an hour. She recommended the board approve the contract; trustees deferred initial questions, then moved and passed a motion to accept the contract.
Board members recorded their approval by voice (7–0). Administrators said they were not concerned about the modest per‑day and per‑hour increases given the program’s role serving students with intensive needs; no additional amendments were described in the meeting.
The contract approval will obligate the district to the higher rates for the defined contract period unless a subsequent amendment is brought to the board.
