LMF board approves $275,000 award for Partridge Cove conservation in Hancock County

The Land for Maine's Future board voted unanimously Jan. 13 to accept an appraisal recommendation and to confirm funding for the Partridge Cove conservation acquisition in Le Moine, Hancock County.
Aaron (staff) presented the Partridge Cove dossier, describing a roughly 230-acre property pre-acquired by Frenchman Bay Conservancy and sponsored with IFNW. He said the AOC met on Jan. 13 and recommended acceptance of an appraised value of $550,000. The board then considered a draft motion to confirm an allocation of $275,000 in LMF conservation and recreation funding and an additional $17,000 for stewardship, both subject to standard conditions.
Laura Pinover, land protection manager at Frenchman Bay Conservancy, told the board the conservancy plans to connect the parcel to adjacent conserved lands and to use stewardship funds for long-term care. The motion to accept the appraisal and to confirm the $275,000 allocation and $17,000 stewardship award passed without opposition.
Staff said public notice ran in the Bangor Daily News on Jan. 17 and that no public comments were received; final contracting and standard due diligence will follow before dispersal.
