Corcoran council signs off on priorities for state bonding to build second well and 1-million-gallon tower

Priority one is a second municipal well in the city’s northeast (test well completed at Belleather Park and pipework installed for a permanent pump house). Priority 2A is a proposed 1-million-gallon elevated water tower at a north-side location near city hall property to serve southeast Corcoran; priority 2B is a required booster station to deliver water from Maple Grove into the tower’s service area. If proceeds remain, staff proposed an equipment and storage facility near Heritage Park as a later project.
Staff told council they have reasonable cost estimates for the well and tower but not yet for the booster station, and that timeline to operation is likely two to three years. Council members asked clarifying questions about locations, treatment needs for the southeast service area, and whether the city could later pursue a southeast well and treatment plant; staff said the city has an agreement with Maple Grove for supply and is planning options for a potential future plant.
Council approved the priority list for presentation to the PFA; staff will separate projects into specific requests and return with design and funding details as each project progresses.
