Pleasant View City Council approved a package of approvals tied to a commercial development near 2700 North and the far-west border at its March 10 meeting.
The council voted unanimously to grant preliminary subdivision approval for two vacant Wever County parcels totaling about 8.01 acres (the "shark fin" area east of I-15 and north of the Maverik). The motion formalized earlier planning-commission recommendations and clears a procedural step for later plat approval once required land acquisitions are complete.
Council also approved a development agreement that defines how regional grant funding and partner reimbursements will flow to the developer to compensate for an upsized roadway right-of-way and other off-site improvements. Andrea, the city presenter, said the WHOG funding award is administered by Pleasant View; UDOT has agreed to contribute $250,000 toward a 2700 North widening but will only reimburse a government agency, requiring the city to act as administrator.
Finally the council adopted a franchise agreement allowing the developer to place secondary water lines and associated facilities within the public right-of-way subject to standard conditions; the council approved the form and directed staff to finalize signatures.
