Planning commission recommends approval of city text amendment correcting zoning use-table clerical errors

The Midvale Planning Commission unanimously recommended that the City Council approve a city-initiated text amendment to correct clerical errors in the zoning use table.
Staff presenter Liz explained that during a previous code change a heading for vehicle-related uses was lost and that the amendment restores accurate labels so entries read "vehicle rental," "vehicle sales," "vehicle filling stations," and similar uses. "It was a clerical error on my part when I brought you the amendment last time," Liz told the commission.
The text amendment materials cited specific code sections the staff packet seeks to amend to correct table entries. Staff requested that the commission find the amendment consistent with the text-amendment criteria and recommend approval.
There were no public comments. The commission moved to close the public portion, then moved to recommend approval of the amendment as provided in the staff attachments. A roll-call vote recorded yes votes from Chair Anderson, Vice Chair Ericson, Commissioner Tippets, Commissioner Lkey, Commissioner Edwards and Commissioner Brocky; the motion passed and the commission forwarded its recommendation to the City Council.
The planning commission’s action was a recommendation; final adoption of the text amendment rests with the Midvale City Council.
