Commissioner Edwards elected chair; Commissioner Lkey chosen as vice chair of Midvale Planning Commission

The Midvale Planning Commission elected Commissioner Edwards as its new chair and selected Commissioner Lkey as vice chair during its regular meeting.
The commission conducted written-ballot voting for chair after nominations. The first round produced a tie; on a subsequent ballot, Commissioner Edwards secured a 4–2 majority and was declared chair. Chair Anderson confirmed the tally and said the new chair will assume the role at the next scheduled meeting.
Nomination and voting for vice chair followed. Shane Litkkey (recorded in the minutes as Commissioner Lkey/Litkkey in multiple places) accepted the nomination. Ballots were read into the record and the commission reported unanimous support for the nominee.
The proceedings followed the commission’s bylaws for officer elections: nominations for chair, ballot voting requiring a minimum of four votes for election, and then nominations and voting for vice chair. Vice Chair Ericson participated virtually and her vote was read into the record by staff per the announced procedure.
The commission then approved the minutes of Feb. 11, 2026, before moving on to the evening’s public hearings.
The officer elections were procedural and do not themselves change policy; the chair’s duties will continue under commission bylaws, and the newly elected chair will preside at the next meeting.
