Planning commission corrects minutes and forwards rezoning recommendations to city council

At its March 12 meeting the Kaysville Planning Commission amended prior meeting minutes to correct vote totals, approved Feb. 26 minutes, and sent two rezone recommendations to city council; staff also announced remaining park parcel rezonings to follow.
The Kaysville City Planning Commission on March 12 voted to amend previously approved minutes to correct an inaccurate vote tally from a prior meeting and subsequently approved the Feb. 26 minutes.
A commissioner explained an earlier action had been recorded as 4-0 when the correct tally was 3-1; the commission voted to amend the minutes and will forward the corrected record to the city council. The commission then approved the Feb. 26 minutes by voice vote.
Staff also briefed commissioners about other items headed to city council next week, including the Symphony rezone and a Metcalfe sign, and said two remaining city park parcels —or Hess Farms Park and Gailey Park will need rezoning to public use. Staff said the remaining parcels are likely to be more complicated than the recent, straightforward rezonings.
The meeting ended after a short staff update and a welcome to Commissioner Cornelius on their first meeting.
