WFRC opens draft 2027–2055 RTP preferred scenario for public comment through May 13

WFRC’s long‑range planning team presented the draft preferred scenario for the 2027–2055 Regional Transportation Plan and opened it for public comment through May 13.
Joel Temple demonstrated the interactive map and explained users can view roadway, transit and active‑transportation projects separately or together, click project dots to leave comments at specific locations and provide contact information for follow up. He stressed exploratory concepts on the map are ideas that currently do not meet technical criteria and are not automatically incorporated into the RTP; they may be reconsidered as circumstances or further study changes.
Temple said the next step after public comment is to score projects against performance criteria—such as network strengthening and safety benefits—sort them into 10‑year phasing buckets based on funding availability, and then finalize the RTP. The public comment period runs through May 13, and staff encouraged jurisdictions that did not receive notification to contact WFRC staff (Jordan) for distribution list updates.
