WFRC awards $1.8M through TLC program; five projects for Ogden‑Layton area

Byron Head, a community planner at WFRC, told the TAC that the region’s Transportation and Land Use Connection (TLC) program funded 15 projects this cycle totaling just under $1.8 million. "This year we were able to fund 15 projects in total throughout our entire area. Or just shy of $1.8 million," he said.

For the Ogden‑Layton urban area, Head said five projects received approximately $55,000 in combined funding. These include a Davis County regional trails wayfinding and signage plan for the Denver Rio Grande, Legacy and West Davis Corridor trails; a Far West general plan update with scenario planning and infrastructure capacity assessment; an Ogden small‑area plan for the Five Points Wasatch Choice center with a market study; Pleasant View city‑center planning emphasizing affordable housing and walkability tied to a future Frontrunner station; and a West Haven transportation master plan focused on active-transportation and traffic‑calming strategies.

Head encouraged jurisdictions to prepare letters of intent for the next TLC round—he said letters are due in five months—and offered WFRC staff time to consult on potential applications. The presentation listed partners including UDOT, UTA and the governor’s office of planning and budget.
