David and Ben presented the hitting facility update: construction began in late October, the metal building was erected in November/December, interior walls and padding installed, turf installed by a vendor, and three cages created (two 55-foot cages and one 70-foot cage that can be split for multiple users). The facility allows teams to practice indoors during inclement weather and has been scheduled for shared use between baseball and softball teams. The project direct cost for building and interior work was reported at approximately $113,000–$114,000; additional donated materials and labor valued at about $61,450 were also itemized (contributions from local foundations, businesses, and in-kind work). District accounts and booster groups contributed to the project funding.
Board members thanked coaches, staff, donors and volunteers for supporting athletics and CTE programs that provide student opportunities. The hitting facility report included specific donor figures and in-kind contributions; staff said exterior work and final drainage improvements remain under consideration and may add to total project costs.
