Superintendent announces leadership appointments for 2026–27 school year

Among the named placements, Zach Harwood, who has served as principal of the Lawrence Virtual School since July 2023, will serve as principal of the Choice Campus at Centennial while continuing leadership at LVS. Mark Puit will serve as lead principal of student support pathways, overseeing academy programs at the college-and-career campus, adult education, diploma completion and attendance/truancy interventions. Kristen Ryan will move to lead student support services, and Samry Devin (presented in the packet as Miss Devin) will serve as assistant superintendent for human resources and employee relations. Denise Johnson was named principal of Prairie Park Elementary. The superintendent also announced that JB Manhart has joined the district as CTE coordinator.
Dr. Swift said the appointments are intended to streamline operations and align leadership with district priorities for 2026–27, and that the changes were accomplished "without addition to the number of administrative positions in the district." The superintendent added the district will open a Welcome Center to partner with families and consolidate student wraparound services.
Several board members congratulated the appointees during the meeting. The district did not present additional personnel contracts or salary details during the public portion of the meeting; specific start dates and compensation details will be handled through standard HR processes.
