"In the absence of a quorum, it's my understanding that we are not able to have a meeting," the chair said, and the meeting was formally canceled.
City staff member Mr. Perez told attendees that the Planning Commission bylaws allow the body to adjourn to a later date or to a workshop or study session when a quorum is not present. He said the scoping meeting for the General Plan Program Environmental Impact Report will be held as a public workshop in the Council Chambers once the meeting adjourns.
"The public is still encouraged to provide public comment either in person during our workshop, via email, or through the project website, which is www.planriogrande.com," Mr. Perez said.
The chair declared the meeting adjourned at 6:01 p.m. No votes or formal actions were taken at the canceled meeting. Staff was asked to facilitate the workshop process that evening.
