The Ripon City Planning Commission voted to recommend that the City Council approve a development agreement with Iona LLC for an electric-vehicle charging station at 1504 West Colony Road.
Planning Director Ken told commissioners the agreement implements conditions of approval that were part of the project's earlier planning decision and must be in place before the applicant may obtain building permits. "This is just in fulfillment of their conditions of approval for the project," Ken said during the staff presentation. He also said the applicant reviewed and accepted the agreement.
Commissioners discussed when the city uses development agreements and whether they should be required routinely or included in the original application packet. A motion recommending approval to the city council was seconded and approved by roll-call vote. The commission's action is a recommendation; the city council retains final authority to approve or modify the development agreement.
