UOG Endowment Foundation reports relief donations, sponsorships and scholarship support

The UOG Endowment Foundation updated the Board of Regents on fundraising and in-kind support at the May 14 meeting. Executive Director Katrina Paris reported the foundation organized relief efforts after Super Typhoon Sinlaku, collecting in-kind donations and exceeding the foundation's initial cash goal.
"Altogether, we received in-kind donations valued at $7,780," Paris said, and she told the board the foundation exceeded an original cash goal of $10,000 for relief. The foundation reported additional in-kind ticket donations and sponsorships supporting scholarships and the Guam SBDC fund, and several named donations and sponsorships earmarked for specific initiatives.
Paris thanked university partners and volunteers who assisted the fundraising; the foundation said some cash and in-kind support will purchase solar-powered fans and power banks for relief distribution. Board members asked about scheduling a session to discuss endowment interaction with the board and were directed to consult counsel about open-meeting law requirements for such coordination.
The foundation also summarized other recent contributions supporting student scholarships and resilience programs and encouraged board members to thank donors who support University of Guam initiatives.
