District outlines Boulevard renovation plan, mechanical upgrades and solar options while flagging funding uncertainty

Staff asked architects to include structural provisions so any new cafeteria/kitchen additions could support future rooftop solar rather than requiring retrofits.
Board members pressed for clarity on capacity and whether solar could serve athletic fields. Staff said architects will explore options and noted that distance and panel count affect feasibility; they did not commit to full off‑grid capability for all fields.
On funding, staff said the district is watching SCA1 and spring tax receipts. "We should have a better picture by the end of the summer," the staff member said, and preliminarily noted an anticipated roughly $1 million reduction to the operation fund for fiscal year 2027. Staff said final design and bidding will depend on that financial picture and that they will present funding scenarios before advancing construction contracts.
No contract awards or final authorizations were made at the session; the board received the update and will consider funding requests once staff refines cost estimates and tax projections.
