Commissioners adopt red-light camera ordinance with sunset; speed-camera proposal for school zones tabled

Commissioners debated language intended to ensure cameras remained limited to school zones even if state law later changed; because a commissioner wanted time to draft a narrowly worded amendment, the board tabled both the ordinance and its amendment for further refinement.
The red-light camera amendment passed in public vote, and the full ordinance passed as amended. The speed-monitoring proposal will return after additional drafting and review.
