At its meeting the Harris Township Board approved the following actions by voice vote or motion:
• Ordinance 384 — Adopted an amendment to Chapter 3, Article 3, Section 3.8 removing a requirement to submit proof of hotel-tax registration with short-term rental license applications and adding an applicant disclaimer (staff to update application form and coordinate with Centre County as necessary).
• Steve and Linda Weaver minor subdivision — Approved contingent on satisfactory completion of comments in the March 17, 2026 zoning officer letter and the March 18, 2026 township engineer letter.
• Tussey Mountain DRI — Forwarded the Development of Regional Impact application to the Centre Region Planning Commission for regional review with the board providing findings of fact in support.
• Kaiser property operations & maintenance agreement — Approved an O&M agreement for the on-lot community disposal system at 390 Misty Hill Drive contingent on developer-provided cost estimates (which were included).
• Rocky Ridge developer's agreement — Approved a developer's agreement requiring completion of improvements in sections 1–4 by Aug. 31, 2026, and section 5 by Sept. 30, 2026, subject to minor non-substantive edits by the Township Manager.
• Resolution 2609 — Designated May as Bike Month.
• Appointment — Dan Gus appointed to represent the township on the University Area Joint Authority through Dec. 31, 2031.
• Special events and traffic control — Approved block party street closure for Karen Street (June 12, rain date June 13), approval to use Boalsburg Fire Police for traffic control at the Outdoor Business Alliance expo (April 26), and Memorial Day street closings and temporary no-parking zones (including PennDOT signage on Route 45 E).
The board also approved vouchers and authorized staff follow-up tasks tied to approved agreements and ordinance implementation.
