The meeting opened with a student-council update and a reader-theater performance by eighth-grade students, after which the board handled routine business.
Oliver Slather, student council treasurer, summarized recent student activities, including a March Madness bracket, winter-wellness events and upcoming testing celebrations. The district’s speech coach introduced eighth-grade performers Tegan, Amy and Josephine, who presented a staged excerpt intended to be humorous.
Administrators announced personnel additions: a new 4K teacher (Katie), a contracted speech-language pathologist Paula Zillinsky (a Frederick graduate) and a new special-education hire Nick Seager. The board acknowledged recent donations from youth sports, Snow’s organization and the parent-teacher organization that support athletics, student hoodies and negative lunch balances.
No formal action was required beyond the consent agenda approvals, and board members thanked the students and staff for their work.
