Staff said the certified agreement also clarifies hourly pay for teachers who substitute during their prep time. The board approved these items by voice vote; no individual roll-call tallies were recorded in the meeting minutes.
Enrollment adjustments: Citing current kindergarten registration and historical late additions at registration, staff recommended allowing kindergarten class size to be set at up to 21 students to retain flexibility for late registrants. The board also approved adding four seats for incoming freshmen to avoid shrinking a class below a viable size. The motions for both adjustments were moved, seconded and adopted by voice vote.
OSAA coop and personnel: The board tabled renewal of OSAA cooperative agreements for athletics pending confirmation from neighboring districts about partner availability and slot capacity. Personnel announcements included the resignation of Tammy Mororrow with a last day listed as June 11; personnel rehiring intentions were otherwise handled through the classified rehire resolution.
What’s next: The board will consider final adoption of the district budget at its next meeting on the 15th; public comment for that meeting is scheduled for 6:55 p.m., according to the staff calendar.
