The board said bond proceeds already held by the district should cover the turnkey cost but invited the Yorktown Foundation and sport boosters to raise funds for alternates. One board member summarized the trade-off: "If we get 50 to 100 grand … it's either money we can put towards these alternates or it's money we just don't have to spend," noting large sponsorships could shorten the timeline for optional upgrades.
Contract approval: The board voted 5-0 to approve an agreement with Context Design to manage design deliverables and submittal coordination for this project.
Next steps: Administrators will finalize bid documents with Context Design, solicit base bids and alternates, and report back on bid results and any sponsorship proposals. The board also asked staff to confirm whether proposed seating and gate control would meet requirements to host regional competitions and to verify site details before finalizing the bid package.
