The board adopted three policies in a single vote: Policy 504 (student dress and appearance) and Policy 505 (distribution of non-school-sponsored materials) were approved as three-year reviews with no changes; Policy 507 (corporal punishment and prone restraint) was approved after a three-year review with changes highlighted. Jenna moved to approve all three policies; Melissa seconded and the motions carried by voice vote.
On a personnel matter the board moved to terminate the contract of a probationary teacher, identified in the meeting as Maggie Kraus. The motion, made by Jen and seconded by Jenna, was carried by roll-call vote in which the four present members (Melissa, Jen, Jenna and the presiding member) registered aye.
The board also approved an April resolution accepting multiple donations to the district on a motion by Melissa, seconded by Jen, carried by voice vote. No dissenting votes were recorded for the actions mentioned in the meeting.
