The Herman‑Neosho‑Rubicon School District board reorganized its leadership and approved personnel moves during its May 13 meeting.
Phil Hall was elected board president after nominations opened; Scott was chosen as vice president, Dan Sigman as treasurer and Andrea as clerk. The board also accepted Britney Foster as board secretary starting July 1 so she can manage minutes and clerical duties. Britney Foster confirmed her acceptance of the secretary role during the meeting.
The board voted to accept two staff resignations effective at the end of the school year: Erin Knight, who is leaving to take a full‑time position at the Mayville Public Library, and Aliyah Faults, who cited family reasons. A board member moved to accept both resignations and the motion carried on a voice vote.
Board members approved hiring Nikki Swoboda as the intermediate school administrative assistant; staff told the board she subbed in the district this year and brings office experience and social‑media skills. Principal Angie Hope praised the hire, saying Swoboda is familiar with both buildings and “brings a nice background with just her knowledge and getting, you know, like just promoting our district through social media.”
The board also approved a contract for Reagan Lindholm to serve as the district’s full‑time music teacher beginning Aug. 19, 2026, after interviews produced several candidates. School staff said Lindholm was recommended following six interviews and that the hire will provide the district with a full‑time music program.
Trustees accepted several donations: $10,000 to the playground fund from the H&R PTO and a $40,000 gift from Ron Stroman. The board also accepted numerous classroom donations from the local group Play for Cade, described in the meeting as teacher‑requested items for indoor activities and classroom needs. The board thanked donors and voted to accept the gifts.
The board adjourned the open session business and moved on to other agenda items later in the meeting.
