Central Public Schools presents six-goal operational plan to guide district strategy over coming years

The six proposed goals are: strategic resource management; high expectations for each student; individualized learning for student success; student engagement and well-being; partnership and collaboration; and high-quality, effective instruction. Trustees discussed differences between beliefs (high expectations) and actionable items (individualized learning) and suggested making explicit links to the district mission and values.
Board members praised the breadth of the goals but requested clearer language tying the goals to measurable outcomes and the district's stated mission, including career and community connections for students who pursue non-college paths. Administrators said they would revise the draft and return to the board with a second iteration.
No formal vote was required; the item is a policy-direction discussion that staff said will be refined with board input before adoption or further operationalization.
