The board approved the financial components of support‑staff negotiations covering full‑time and part‑time support staff and bus drivers, and it also approved a daycare tuition increase to take effect in May. Both motions passed by voice vote, 7‑0.
District officials said the daycare rate increase responds to lower-than-expected infant enrollment and is intended to improve revenue projections compared with prior estimates. "We don't have as many infants as we thought, so this would help us get better in the projection than what we had projected for revenue last year," the presiding officer explained to the board during the discussion.
Separately, the board approved the financial terms for support staff negotiations and directed staff to finalize the full handbook for presentation at an upcoming meeting. Both votes were unanimous.
