Cadott board approves handbook, CESA contract, donations and Head Start playground renovation

The Cadott Community School District board voted to approve routine operational items including the Hornet Care handbook, the 2026–27 CESA 10 service contract and multiple community donations, and it approved Head Start playground renovations funded largely by a donor.

At the meeting the board took several votes presented by the chair. Motions and voice votes recorded in public session included acceptance of a $200 donation from Close Farms, a $100 donation from Donna Alvarado to Best Buddies, $1,250 from Team Up Gymnastics Association, and $107.33 from the Knights of Columbus for special education. The board also approved the Hornet Care handbook and a CESA 10 services contract for 2026–27.

Head Start representatives had offered to donate equipment and surface work for a 3K playground, an in-kind contribution the board discussed. Administration said the donation would cover most of the estimated $160,000 project and the district’s obligations would be limited to site prep. The board voted to approve the Head Start playground renovations as presented.

Administration noted that some routine procurement (for example, a painting quote of roughly $14,950 to repaint front entry doors) will proceed with staff oversight and, if over the board’s threshold, will return for formal board approval.
