By motion and voice vote the committee approved an emergency school‑day reduction for the 2025–26 Foster cluster calendar and later approved the 2026–27 district calendar as presented, authorizing the superintendent limited flexibility to change a school day if the state moves the primary to a different date.
The committee voted to rescind the face‑covering policy (policy 21‑002). The policy subcommittee then presented an addendum to purchasing policy 3320 (addendum 3320A) that staff said was an outdated, paper‑based procedure. Committee members noted the addendum previously included a sentence making employees personally responsible for payment when they order without adherence to procedure; members raised legal and HR concerns about automatically requiring an employee to pay and asked that revised language be brought back. The committee tabled the addendum to allow the policy subcommittee and legal/HR staff to craft appropriate language.
The committee approved a revised adjusting journal‑entry policy (6256) clarifying that supporting documentation is maintained electronically and available to superintendent and committee and approved a revised school‑cancellation procedure (2460). Members asked staff to ensure adequate backup documentation is retained in the district's electronic records.
Capital projects subcommittee reported forthcoming RFPs for water heaters and tennis‑court resurfacing and continued design review of a proposed oil/fuel tank replacement (the subcommittee asked designers to revisit above‑ground options and pricing). Staff said additional recommendations will return to the committee for approval.
