Perrydale board discusses switching insurance agent but defers decision amid active claim

One board member said the district is currently handling a "pretty big claim" and expressed reluctance to change agents in the middle of that claim. Other members said they prefer consistency and suggested the district go out for bids earlier next year if it expects to exceed the threshold.
No motion to change agents was made during the public portion; board members instead asked staff to continue discussions and to return with comparative figures if warranted. Staff noted a statutory or administrative timing constraint: some notices must be complete by April 30 to meet a 60-day pre-deadline process ahead of an end-of-June deadline.
The board did not vote on the agent-of-record question and left the matter open to future review.
