The Johnsburg Central School District Board of Education approved several personnel actions, including acceptance of two resignations, approval of a principal contract, and an amendment to the superintendent’s employment agreement.
The board accepted the resignation of music teacher Claire Ames, effective June 30, 2026. Chris moved the acceptance and members expressed gratitude for Ames’s work, saying she "stepped into a difficult situation and really made an impact with these kids." The motion carried.
The board also approved the principal contract for Alexandria "Al/Alex" Harris, effective July 1, 2026. Melissa moved the contract and Chris seconded; the board welcomed Harris and noted plans for her to visit staff and students in June prior to beginning in July.
Separately, board members voted to accept the resignation of bus driver Gerald Brown, effective June 30, 2026; members thanked him for four years of service.
The board approved an amendment to the superintendent’s employment agreement dated Dec. 15, 2025. The board reviewed the amendment, which was included in the meeting packet, and moved and seconded the action before carrying it by voice vote; the transcript records an abstention but does not provide a numerical roll-call tally.
These actions were moved and seconded during the meeting and were recorded as carried in the transcript; where the record uses first names only, this article uses the names as they appear in the meeting minutes.
