At its May 18 meeting the Venus Independent School District Board of Trustees completed reorganization and elected new officers for the coming year.
Trustees opened nominations for board president and elected Tasha Gore. The motion to elect Gore was moved and seconded from the floor and the president’s election was approved by voice vote.
The board then elected Amber Craftton as vice president and Kirby Sansom as secretary using the same nomination and voice-vote procedures. Each officer selection was made by motion and declared carried by the presiding officer.
The reorganization followed the administration of oaths of office earlier in the meeting to trustees who had been recently elected to the board.
