Durant said many clients arrive with nothing and benefit from the center's resale stores and volunteer support.
Durant asked the community to help by volunteering; she said the center needs roughly 100 volunteers for race‑day support at the Dicker Run scheduled for April 25–26 and noted an online volunteer sign‑up is available. She thanked the city and community leaders for supporting survivors and emphasized prevention via awareness and education.
The mayor asked the council and audience to applaud the organization and acknowledged the proclamation on the record.
