Board authorizes three-year Older Americans Act funding proposal for county Commission on Aging

"I'm here to get the board's approval and signature on the um three-year Commission on Aging's three-year funding proposal, which is $345,000 a year over the 3-year period and it's a standard requirement to the Area Agency on Aging," Shock said during her presentation.
Vice Chairman Peterson moved to grant approval for the authorized signature on the proposal to the Area Agency on Aging of Western Michigan; the motion was moved and supported and carried by voice vote. Shock said the request reflects the commission's standard annual budget request to the Area Agency and that the agency does not strictly hold the commission to the requested amounts if actual allocations vary by year.
No additional questions were recorded and the board recorded approval. The authorization allows staff to submit the funding request and sign required documents for grant consideration to the Area Agency of Aging of Western Michigan.
