District: high-school bid timeline, Stevenson design closeout and lockdown after-action meeting

At the MOUNTAIN HOME DISTRICT meeting, a trustee gave a multi-part facilities and safety update that covered a high-school construction timeline, the Stevenson project's move from design to construction, and an after-action meeting following a school lockdown.
"I'll introduce you to Marvin Alvarado, our new Vector Technologies," the trustee said when presenting staff and project updates. The trustee reported that Albert was absent from the meeting because he was at a planning-and-zoning hearing on a conditional-use permit for the high-school project.
On the high-school project, the trustee said the district is "optimistically shooting for going out to bid here in beginning of April" with the hope of breaking ground at the end of May, subject to a fully executed lease. The trustee clarified that design work and bidding can proceed if the district secures design or construction grant funding, but the lease must be completed before physical ground-breaking.
The trustee also said the Stevenson project is waiting on final documents from the architect to close out the design phase; those documents were expected by the 23rd, after which the district will move into the construction phase and coordinate with "Bennington" on the next steps.
On school safety, the trustee reported on a recent Friday lockdown and said the district plans to meet with the Mt. Holly Police Department on the 31st to review communication protocols and tighten coordination during events. "Overall that went very well with both law enforcement and notification out from parents," the trustee said, while acknowledging some parents want live, real-time updates during incidents.
What’s next: the district will await the architect's final design submissions for Stevenson, continue work on procurement and lease execution for the high-school project, and hold the scheduled meeting with Mt. Holly police to review response procedures.
