Committee approves adding multiple roads to county road list and requests maintenance agreement

The Cumberland County Environmental Committee voted on March 31 to add several roads to the county road list after inspections confirmed they meet county specifications.
Committee member Joe Sherrill moved to add Maple Ridge Lane and Maple Ridge Drive to the county road list and to require a road maintenance agreement drafted by the county attorney at the developer's request; Deborah Holbrook seconded the motion and it passed without opposition. The minutes state that the Maple Ridge top cap was completed and that the developer anticipates additional construction that could affect road condition.
A constituent requested adding Nicholson Drive to the county road list. Road Superintendent Stanley Hall inspected Nicholson Drive and reported it meets county road-list specifications; Joe Sherrill moved to add the road, a member recorded as John seconded, and the motion carried.
A constituent requested adding Catoosa Ridge Drive, Ridge Trail, Bluff View Circle, Bluff View Drive (name-change in progress), Bluff View Way and Bluff View Point in the Catoosa Ridge Estates development. The roads were reported to meet county specifications. The committee approved adding the roads conditional on completion of the Bluff View Drive name change through the 911 addressing process before final legislative approval; Deborah made the motion, John (as recorded) seconded, and the motion passed.
Road Superintendent Stanley Hall distributed a pamphlet with road department updates; committee members thanked staff for assistance with the recent road survey. The committee adjourned at 5:14 p.m.
